BMC panel air filters are made from a multi-layered cotton gauze filter material covered with a steel mesh. The cotton filter material comes pre-oiled and filters particles at least as small as 7 microns (under 3 ten thousandths of an inch) while drastically reducing the air flow restrictions of the factory air filter.
This means that BMC filters allow more air into the engine than the OEM filter, creating more power while still protecting the engine. Furthermore, BMC filters can be cleaned and re-oiled, allowing them to be used for much longer than a factory air filter which is generally not a serviceable item.
