NZEFI Services

NZEFI performs a range of services relating to vehicles using electronic fuel injection. We specialise in the installation and tuning of both factory and aftermarket engine management systems. We are also very experienced at using our Dynapack dyno in conjunction with other tools to diagnose faults - especially ones that occur at high loads or engine speeds.



Dyno Power Runs
Power Runs measure the power and torque of your vehicle throughout the rev range. Once the car is warmed up we will do two back-to-back runs, although additional runs may be requested. Our computer controlled dyno gives a printout of power and torque versus rpm.

Dyno Tuning/Diagnostics
$125 + GST per hour for 2WD/4WD Dyno Tuning or Diagnostics
Full custom-mapped Dyno Tunes from $500.

While we have considerable experience with many different brands of engine management systems, for applications requiring custom tuning using an aftermarket system, we prefer to use one of the following brands:

Link G2/G3/G4 (these are a quantum leap from their old G1 systems)
ViPEC
Motec (not to be confused with Microtech)
HKS F-Con V Pro
Apexi Power FC

NZEFI also specialises in custom re-tuning of factory Nissan ECUs for most RB and SR series engines. In stark contrast to someone sitting at their desk burning a 'best-guess' EPROM chip, we tune these systems just like the aftermarket ones - in real time on the dyno. This practice produces a tune specifically tailored to your car and its exact modifications. The results are incomparible to the off-the-shelf mail-order tunes which we have seen cause greif time and time again.

$60 + GST per hour - Work performed by one of our highly skilled technicians.

Custom-made ECU wiring looms from $600

We have several pre-tune checks that we recommend including:
Injector spray pattern and flow testing - $20/per injector
Fuel pump testing - check that your fuel pump has sufficient flow at the required pressure
Pressure testing of induction system (especially important on forced induction engines)
